FALL bible studies

Join us this Fall for one of new Bible Studies.

Click on the plus sign for descriptions of the studies.

  • Sundays 5-7 pm

    Mondays 11 am - 1 pm

I want to extend an invitation to any of you who are not already committed to a Fall Bible study to join us for a study of Revelation, Part 4. This study will cover the final chapters and will deal with end-time events. Please don’t let the enemy convince you that you could never understand the book of Revelation. The Lord tells us in the very first verse of the book that He gave the Revelation “to show to His bondservants (that includes believers today) the things which must soon take place.” God wants us to be informed about the end times. You’ve probably heard people say, Oh, they’ve been saying for 2,000 years that Jesus is coming back, and He hasn’t come back yet. Well, He promised that He is coming back, and He always keeps His promises. Incidentally, that word “soon” doesn’t mean “immediately.” It means that once the end-time events are set in motion, they will occur in rapid succession. Precept workbooks are $25. This course is twelve weeks long and will be offered on Mondays from 11-1 and on Sundays from 5-7. This class is led by Vicki Carlisle and Ava Donnell.

This 11-week curriculum walks through the first half of the book of Acts—the authority of the King is proclaimed, the indwelling of the Spirit is secured, and the Church of God is multiplied. Witness a crucial moment in the history of our faith as the gospel goes out against great odds and the Church takes root. The cost of the book for this class is $20, Classes will begin August 24. This class is led by Alyssa Faith.

Come along with biblical culturalist Kristi McLelland as she unpacks the life of the early church in the book of Acts and shows us that the kingdom of God is always on the move, always looking outward to bring meaning and joy to a world searching for true fulfillment and hope. Explore the call of Jesus to His disciples then and to us today. See how God's Word can sustain us even in the most difficult of times and embrace the transformative grace we experience as children of God in His kingdom of celebration. Classes will begin August 24. This class is led by Joyce Niles.

WHAT IS WOMEN'S MINISTRY?

The purpose of LBC's Women's Ministry is to love God, love women, and make disciples.

WHO IS THIS MINISTRY FOR?

The Women's ministry of LBC is for all women of LBC.

WHERE AND WHEN DOES WOMEN'S MINISTRY MEET?

Front Porch Devotions: last Saturday of the month at 9:00am

The Joy Makers: Tuesdays at the church from 10:00am -12:00pm

Bible study on Wednesday nights from 6:00 -7:00pm

Precept Bible studies on Sunday nights from 5:00 -7:00pm and Mondays from 11am - 1pm

WHY I SHOULD CONSIDER BEING INVOLVED WITH WOMEN'S MINISTRY?

You should consider being involved in Women's Ministry because we can accomplish more for Christ when we are all participating.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN INVOLVED WITH THIS MINISTRY. WHAT WOULD BE MY FIRST STEP TO GET INVOLVED?

If you want to get acquainted with Women's Ministry, there are many places you can start. If developing friendships is your priority, you might try Front Porch Devotions (fellowship, prayer, devotion). This group usually meets the last Saturday of the month at 9:00 am. in someone's home, and the location rotates. Everyone brings a food item to share, the hostess shares a devotion, and group shares prayer requests and then closes with prayer. The Joy Makers is fellowship-oriented as well as service-oriented. They meet on Tuesdays at the church from 10:00 am -12:00 pm and send greeting cards, make salvation bracelets to send to Nicaragua, and other projects. I understand the laughter is priceless. If you desire to go deeper in God's Word, Joyce Niles leads a Bible Study of Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00 pm (no homework required); Alyssa Faith leads a Bible study on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00 pm (moderate homework required); Ava Donnell leads Precept Bible studies on Sunday nights from 5:00-7:00 pm (heavy homework required); and Vicki Carlisle leads Precept Bible studies on Monday mornings from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm (heavy homework required).

WHAT IS THE MISSION OF THIS MINISTRY?

The mission of Women's Ministry is to provide opportunities for women to grow in the body of Christ and help them become more devoted followers of Him.

WHO DO I CONTACT?
